Historic Kenwood Partnership

Trying to find just the right project to sink your "I wanna make a difference" team spirit into? Also want to meet new and like minded neighbors and friends of HK? Volunteers from HK, The Foundry and First United Methodist Church plus staff from the City of St. Petersburg "N" Team work together to refurbish other properties in Historic Kenwood and area neighborhoods.  The neighborhood's Partnership Program brings together neighborhoods and local community vounteers with physically- and/or financially-challenged homeowners to make much-needed exterior home repairs and yard clean-ups. In 2015, the program revitalized six Historic Kenwood homes and assisted two adjoining neighborhoods to begin similar programs. Here is a story about one home that was in an ajoining neighborhood, Palmetto Park. NUSA awarded the first place prize in the Physical Revitalization category of the Neighborhood of the Year competition to the Historic Kenwood Neighborhood Association.  Click here.

St. Pete City Council and Chair Amy Foster recognized the Historic Kenwood Partnership for our 1st place national award at NUSA. LaAuna Lewis, David McKuen with the Foundry Church, the City's N Team & Susie Ajoc, along with HKNA President Brenda Gordon - a proud day for Historic Kenwood!

We have had two great newspaper stories on this program. First in the Tampa Bay Times, click here. The second one was in the Gulfport Gabber, click here

Here is a great personal story. Click here.

This is an approved neighborhood program established to assist those who need help completing work on their home/property. Some are code violations and some are not. Some properties belong to elderly who have been long term residents and some owners have physical/financial challenges which make it impossible to take on the task alone. Volunteers and "N" Team staff will help to relieve that burden. Whatever the circumstances, this is a great way to revitalize the spirit of volunteerism, invest in our neighborhood and improve the overall City.

City of St. Petersburg "N" Team Manager,  Donald Putnam, and Mike Dove, Administrative Director will follow through when it's a painting project with the labor to prep the property,  the construction expertise and tools/equipment to do the repairs/removal plus, when required, "the day of" volunteer direction.
