Saturday, November 11, 2017 - 11:00am to 1:00pm

Free Children’s Community Sing Along and Story Time - The Historic Kenwood Neighborhood Association and its monthly Kenwood Kidz program invite children and parents from throughout St. Petersburg for a rollicking 30-40 minute Story Time and Sing Along with Music & Me, followed by free play in Historic Kenwood’s Seminole Park, 30th Avenue and 3rd Street North, St. Petersburg. Presenter “Miss Jen” Logan, a registered Music Together® teacher associated with Music & Me LLC, will lead children and parents in this fun event.  Music & Me has been serving the families of St. Petersburg as a licensed provider of the internationally renowned Music Together® program for more than seven years. This event is part of its ongoing mission to make music accessible to every child in our community.

“Music & Me is committed to helping families rediscover the pleasure and educational value of informal music experiences,” says Music & Me director Colleen McGrath Lilley.  “It recognizes that all children are musical, and every child needs a stimulating, supportive music environment to achieve basic competence in the wonderful human capacity for music-making.”  Music Together® has introduced millions of children, parents, and teachers around the world to the joys of family music-making and the powerful benefits of having music in their lives. Story and song leader “Miss Jen” Logan attended the Pinellas County Center for the Arts at Gibbs High School, where she began her dedicated voice training. She has studied Choral Music Education at the University of Colorado, and Music Performance at the University of South Florida.

Kenwood Kidz is a nationally-recognized program for young children, having been awarded the 2016 Neighborhoods USA award for Social Revitalization. Kenwood Kidz is funded by the Historic Kenwood Neighborhood Association and is free to children with an accompanying adult.
