Historic Kenwood Partnership and Garden Workshop Combine for CareFest. After a summer respite, the Historic Kenwood Partnership and Garden Workshop get back in action helping a neighbor at 2200 7th Avenue by painting the house and garage and beautifying the yard. This project will be part of St. Petersburg’s CareFest when neighbor-helping-neighbor projects occur throughout the City. Another CareFest project involves sprucing up the playground at Seminole Park. The last two Partnership projects for 2017 are scheduled for October 21st and November 18th. We welcome Michelene Everett and Farhan Malik to the HK Partnership Steering Team. Thanks to Kenwoodians who have donated tools, our supply is mounting. We could still really use a dependable pressure washer and paint sprayer. To volunteer, donate tools, or request help for yourself or neighbors, contact hkpartnership@historickenwood.org. The HK Partnership and Historic Kenwood Garden Workshop cooperate to improve the appearance and spirit of Kenwood, planning together, working together, and sharing tools and tool storage. The mission of the Garden Workshop is to reach out to neighbors, cultivating plants and partnerships in order to grow a more beautiful, healthy, and vibrant neighborhood for all residents. They work toward these goals by beautifying the yards of deserving Kenwood neighbors, sometimes in conjunction with the HK Partnership. The Workshop meets once a month, usually on the third Saturday morning, for a bit of breakfast before the work. Additionally, the Workshop holds annual fundraisers, such as plant sales or garden tours, all the proceeds of which go to local families in need.
